STARSIL® HEMOSTAT consists of hydrophilic microparticles made from purified, vegetable starch - A new development for all surgical disciplines for haemostasis and adhesion prophylaxis.

It is ready for immediate use and can be applied easily and safely due to its flowability. It is absorbed rapidly, is biocompatible and pyrogen-free. Side effects are not known.

STARSIL® HEMOSTAT absorbs a multiple of its own mass of water. The cellular components in the blood and the proteins are concentrated and thus accelerate the coagulation cascade.

Adhesions are one of the most common complications after surgical procedures. The microparticles of STARSIL® form a hydrogel together with physiological saline solution. The barrier between the tissue layers allows these to heal independently of each other.

Due to its hygroscopic properties, STARSIL® HEMOSTAT is ideally suited for minimally invasive surgery and degrades within a few days.
